Location: Belize City

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the Design Depot property and equipment, including the warehouse operations, building maintenance services, boats & vehicles fleet maintenance, to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

Objective

  • Work closely with the management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Oversee the inventory storage and distribution processes of the company including inventory rotation management.
  • Oversee the service & maintenance process is followed on a timely basis for both property and vehicles.
  • Engage with executive management on new construction expansion
  • Assist in recruiting and training of warehouse employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Lead, motivate and support a team within a time sensitive and demanding environment. Able to coordinate simultaneous team activities.
  • Keep track of inventory and materials and coordinate regular audits of stock.
  • Work closely with purchasing team for adequate replenishment of inventory and also with sales team to avoid overselling issues due to inefficient stock taking.
  • Oversees the logistics department in organizing and coordinating the dispatching and receiving of goods. Monitors the preparation of deliveries to ensure vehicles are loaded adequately and used effectively for the various runs.
  • Oversee the general maintenance and cleanliness of the property. Equipment to be serviced at regular intervals (including air conditioning and backup generator)
  • Oversee the management of the vehicle (boat) fleet to ensure road or sea worthiness at all times.
  • Monitor security team activities and ensure fair and adequate schedules are in place for the safeguarding of the DD property.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, the organization’s operations manual and policies.
  • Communicate customer issues with the operations team to devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills. Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds while maintaining cordial relationships with all of them
  • Extensive knowledge of operations management. Comfortable to work for extended periods of time and handle additional tasks apart from routine job responsibilities.
  • General knowledge of construction
  • General knowledge of vehicle care
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Five years of related experience.
