Job Title: Driver

Department:  Design Depot Warehouse

Directly Reports to: Directors, General Manager, Operations Manager, and Warehouse Supervisors

General Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time and ensure daily maintenance and cleanliness of delivery truck.
  • Careful and conscientious loading and driving of delivery truck and delivery of goods as directed by Operations Manager.
  • Ensure that goods are properly delivered to customers at all times, including checking off goods before they are delivered to customers, collecting, and signing proper paperwork, and reporting back, along with signed paperwork, to the Logistics Coordinator daily.
  • Responsible for the safety and protection of the goods and delivery trucks while in driver’s care.
  • Drive with due care and attention – phone calls to be answered by warehouse assistant assigned to be on the delivery. No sunglasses that cover entire eyes and visual area are permitted.
  • Assist with pick-ups when requested.
  • Must get permission from Operations Manager or Assistant Manager to receive returned goods from customers.
  • Be available to work overtime if business requires.
  • Verifying that all goods received are correct and in good condition.
  • Monitor truck to ensure it is road worthy and to report when truck needs servicing, insurance and or, license renewal to Operations Manager and Logistics Coordinator.
  • Assist with the disposal of garbage when requested.
  • Assist in accounting for all warehouse personnel throughout the day.
  • Assist in keeping track of damaged goods.
  • Assist in ensuring the neat, orderly, and safe storage of goods within the warehouse and outdoor storage areas.
  • Assist in ensuring that the warehouse and outdoor storage in particular, the landing and yard areas are always clean and orderly.
  • Report any activities that would in any way negatively affect the company.
  • Ensure that customer service is always maintained at a World Cup Level; Greet all customers within the Ten-Foot rule (whenever an employee comes within 10 feet of a customer, the employee acknowledges the person – makes eye contact with a smile & a cheerful hello).
  • Support other members of staff when information is needed concerning warehouse items including being available to communicate information to other locations. Queries and/or complaints about the warehouse should first be discussed with the Operations Manager for his/her action.
  • Help in ensuring that Warehouse personnel are adhering to Design Depot Policies.
  • Other Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned.
